DCS - A Family Affair!

As 2023 comes to a close, I wanted to reflect on everything accomplished this year and what DCS has meant to me. The holiday season is upon us and every year I love to reflect on the relationships I have enjoyed and look forward to what is in store for 2024.

Thanksgiving gives us a start for being thankful for what has been provided for me and my family and everyone who has been a part of my Quality Team. Nothing we have done could have been possible without their commitment to our mission and all their hard work. The support of our Leadership Team and my manager makes all the grind we put in this year worth every moment.

I was fortunate enough to have joined DCS in 2016. During the process of meeting with the Leadership Team, I was struck by something that was brought up by everyone I spoke with. Their families seemed to be the driver for each of them during our discussions. I have always heard this when going through the interview process and sometimes it plays a part of the company background, but I wasn’t prepared for just how much it was embedded into the fabric of this company.

You hear the term “talk the talk” all the time, but we rarely see the people “walking the walk”. Every person from the Leadership Team down to the personnel in production and quality have all bought into the “Family” part of this company. It’s in the everyday interactions with each department, the Quality and Production meetings, as well as Sales and Human Resources and Maintenance and IT; that every part of this company is committed to leading the right way. My decision to join in 2016 wasn’t difficult and the fact that I have been able to grow within the company like I have, speaks to everything that was discussed during those initial meetings.

Now that Christmas is here, I know you can’t tell by looking at me, but it is my favorite time of the year. Getting an opportunity to give back to DCS and this community keeps me energized as we end the year and get ready to start all over again. Nothing makes me happier than seeing our team members and their families enjoy and embrace this season each year.

This is the time of year when you reflect, and believe what can be done and accomplished by being a part of a Family and the environment that allows us all to grow and become a part of something special every year.

As I gear up for my busiest time of the year, I look back and appreciate what I did on that day in 2016 and the impact it has had on my family as well as every family I have become a part of. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing all that we can accomplish in 2024.
